Shipping Instructions/ALPS Head Protection

You can send the printer to us to repair and clean up.

Please contact us with a description of the issue that your printer is exhibiting. We will try to access its ability to be repaired and will advise you accordingly.

As I understand you are in the US, please mark customs declaration as a “Used printer”. “Declared value- $50”. Insurance (max. $50 to correspond to declared value) may not be worthwhile.
This value should not result in attracting any border Duty fees.
Printers crossing the USA/Canada border with a declared in excess of $50USD and attracting duties/taxes will not be accepted.

Expected shipping- $50 – $100 USD each way will be at your expense. To avoid taxes/fees/brokerage, please use US Postal Service with tracking service.
Do not use a courier service like UPS/Purolator as shipment will be assessed additional fees, duties, taxes which HAAM will not accept to pay.

Service charge- $150 min. – $200 max USD. Parts (if any) are extra. Paypal payment would be appreciated: wattron@hotmail.com prior to return.
If I should not be able to put the printer into serviceable condition, no service fee applies.

Do you have the original shipping box? It would be ideal.
The most important action that MUST be followed is that the printer head must be absolutely blocked from ANY travel along its rail during shipment.
The print head must be moved fully to the RIGHT hand side of the printer (as seen from the open front cassette door) and held in position there.
Use cardboard or a sleeve of foam rubber to accomplish this.
Failing to do so will result in the head breaking off the rail- which is a fatal condition for these printers.
Additionally, ensure that the printer itself is well padded on ALL sides with foam rubber, styrofoam, or at least 2″ thick of bubblewrap to minimize shock to the printer and prevent the printer from rattling around within the box.
Do not include any ink or cables.
I cannot assume any responsibility for damage arising from shipping to or from my location in Canada.
The printer can be insured with Canadapost.ca on its return. Please specify insured value (max. $1000 Cdn).
Please clearly show return address and your email address.

Please advise once the printer is shipped so I can expect its arrival.
With the exception of the MD5500, all printers we service are provided with our “Anti-white line” feature to extend the working life of your printer.
