This test applies to the Micro Dry series MD-1000/1300/5000(P) only.
(Note: May not work with MD-5000i printers.)
1. Load the printer with standard Micro Dry ink cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). Do NOT load the special dye sublimation ink cartridges.
2. Turn ON the printer and wait for the Power and Ready lights to stay solid green.
3. Press and hold the Ready/Insert button until the printer lights begin to flash (about three seconds), and then release the button. The printer now prints a colour test page (ie: a page that gives the product name as MD-5000P (instead of MD-5000) and includes “Dye-Sublimation Printing” on the printed list of features).
4. This test checks the ability of the printer to select and exchange ink cartridges as required.
